The 11th Annual Kirkwood Wildflower Festival

Come and check out the spectacular wildflowers at the height of season! 

The Wildflower Festival takes place from noon until 5 pm on July 30 in the Village Plaza and is one of Kirkwood's premier summer events.  This event features over 20 regional artisans, 11 breweries and 8 wineries.  Activities include wine and beer tasting, live music, activities for the kids, guided wildflower hikes with renowned Naturalist & Author Laird Blackwell and scenic chair lift rides.   A delicious summer BBQ prepared by Kirkwood Mountain Resort’s food and beverage team is available for purchase.  The Mountain Bike Park, bike rentals and Zip Tahoe will also be available this weekend. Chair 6 will be operating on Saturday from 10am - 3pm for scenic chairlift rides.

Guided hikes with Laird Blackwell 

Saturday July 30 10am  and  1pm  cost $35/person  includes the lift ticket.  

Sunday July 31 10am only cost $35/person includes lift ticket.

Tickets must be purchased in advance here, no tickets will be available on the day of.
*each hike is capped at 18 people, no exceptions.


Wine & Beer Tasting - $30

Purchase your beer & wine tasting ticket here. Ticket includes unlimited beer & wine tasting plus commemorative Kirkwood Wildflower Festival Glass. *must be 21 or over.


Live Music By Homegrown Sounds

We will have live music provided by Homegrown Sounds, an acoustic band out of Sacramento.  The band plays Americana, Roots music, Bluegrass/Newgrass, Classic/Rock, all done with that special Homegrown Sounds style. The band consists of John Winger(Bass/Vocals), Eric Lazar(Guitar/Vocals) and Scott Williams(Guitar/Mandolin/Vocals)


Photography Workshop

Professional photographer and Canon freelancer Dave Henry will be hosting photography workshops on both Saturday and Sunday. See event flier for full details or call 650.327.8511 to reserve your spot.


Kids Activities

Activities for the kids including face painting, a bounce house and arts & crafts at a cost of $10 per child.  Pony Rides will be available for $5.  The Schwan’s truck will be on site selling assorted ice cream bars.
