This is a rough long range report... Lot's of blocking & ridge pressure, not what I wanted to see but it is still very early in the season.
BY FRIDAY...FLAT RIDGE OFF THE SRN CA COAST BUILDING INTO THE WRN US WILL BRING DRY WEATHER TO THE REGION ALTHOUGH HIGH CLOUD COVERAGE WILL PERSIST THRU MUCH OF THE DAY. MAX TEMPS THRU FRIDAY WILL REMAIN NEAR SEASONAL NORMALS WITH MOST VALLEYS REACHING THE 50S...WHILE MIN TEMPS WILL BE AS COLD TONIGHT DUE TO WIDESPREAD CLOUD COVER AND INCOMPLETE DECOUPLING OF WINDS OVER MUCH OF THE REGION. MJD
LONG TERM...SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...
QUIET WEATHER SET TO MOVE IN THIS WEEKEND AND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD OVER THE MOUNTAIN WEST, WITH JET ENERGY GETTING DEFLECTED INTO WESTERN CANADA. WARMING TEMPERATURES ALOFT AND LIGHT WINDS WILL ALLOW FOR POOR MIXING, VALLEY INVERSIONS, AND TEMPS INTO THE MID-UPPER 50S SAT-SUN. IN FACT, HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE SIERRA VALLEYS WILL BE SIMILAR--IF NOT WARMER--THAN THE LOWER VALLEYS IN WESTERN NV.
Stay Thirsty,
Coop
