Saturdays and Sundays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All tickets and rentals are available at the High Alpine Adventure Center (HAAC) next to Red Cliffs Day Lodge. .
The Kirkwood Bike Park is accessible via Chairs 1 and 2 on weekends, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., from July 7th to September 3rd. Ride the lift to the summit of chair 2 and choose from a network of exhilarating trails leading through spectacular terrain and alpine meadows with beautiful mountain vistas. Need a bike for the day? Kirkwood offers high-end, full suspension demo bikes in a variety of sizes and models. Full body armor, helmets and accessories are also available—we recommend calling ahead. ROPES COURSE AND CLIMBING WALL
Kirkwood’s Ropes Course and Climbing Wall includes a collection of high and low elements, plus a zip line! The facility provides an excellent opportunity for working together as a family or team building with your peers. Open weekends. Visit the HAAC or call .
ZIP TAHOE’S ZIP LINE CANOPY TOUR
The Zip Tahoe canopy tour is the first of its kind in Tahoe and adds a whole new element of adventure to Kirkwood. The course takes you zipping through the trees at speeds of up to 30 mph, 90 feet above the resort! 2.5 hour tours include 8 zip lines and 3 suspension bridges. HIKING AND SCENIC CHAIRLIFT RIDES
Take advantage of world-class hiking and breath-taking views from the network of trails accessed by our chairlifts. Chairs 1 and 2 operate weekends from July 7th through September 3rd. Chair 6 operates Sunday July 8th, Saturday July 28th and Saturday September 1st. Chairs are open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Visit the High Alpine Adventure Center (HAAC) for maps and trail recommendations, then hit the General Store to stock up on essentials for your day.
Praised by locals and visitors alike as one of the West Coast’s most challenging courses, “DiscWood” is open daily and play is free—simply pick up a scorecard from the HAAC, then enjoy an afternoon exploring the mountainside above Timber Creek. ALPINE LAKES, FISHING AND BOATING
Kirkwood is surrounded by several pristine alpine lakes within minutes of the resort. Nearby Caples and Silver lakes provide beach access, boat launches and picnic areas, as well as boat/kayak rentals, fishing and swimming—all in a more relaxed and secluded atmosphere than you would find around Lake Tahoe.
Located on the ground level of Red Cliffs Day Lodge, the “G-Store” serves as Kirkwood’s community market and post office. You’ll find grocery items, bait and tackle, biking and hiking maps, ice cream, deli sandwiches, beer on tap and an expanded menu of freshly prepared lunch options. Open daily all summer.
Built in 1864 by Zachariah Kirkwood, The Inn retains its original character and rustic log cabin design. Featuring Western cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Kirkwood Inn is a long standing favorite stop for weary travelers on scenic Highway 88. Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
